MBTA to build walkway between Boston rail and bus stations

advertisement

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) recently reached an agreement with South Station Union L.L.C.-Hines Development to build an enclosed walkway between South Station and an adjacent bus terminal in Boston.

To be completed in late July, the walkway will serve as a temporary shelter for passengers until Hines Development creates a permanent link between the transportation modes. The walkway will feature automatic doors and a ramp to make the structure accessible to disabled riders.

MBTA plans to add retail space and modify ventilation, track and signal systems at South Station.
