Miami-Dade Transit recently contracted HNTB Corp. to serve as the primary consultant for the agency’s East-West Corridor project.

The 17-mile, $2.5 billion corridor will link the western Miami-Dade county suburbs with Miami International Airport, downtown Miami and the Port of Miami. The extension will be built using a combination of elevated guideways and tunnels, and include 11 stations and a maintenance facility.

HNTB will provide environmental, planning and engineering services.
