On July 1, the Utah Transit Authority will implement a fuel surcharge on all fares.
The authority will add a 25-cent surcharge to the $1.75 base fare, a 50-cent surcharge to the $4.50 day pass and an $8 surcharge to the $58.50 monthly pass for local light-rail and bus service. In addition, UTA will tack on a 50-cent surcharge to the FrontRunner commuter-rail base fare, $1 surcharge to the $12.50 day pass and $15 surcharge to the $145 monthly pass.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Transit Commission recently approved a fare increase for the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). On Oct. 6, the agency will raise local base fares from $1.30 to $1.50. Other fares will be adjusted accordingly, CATS said.
