Sacramento transit district sets monthly ridership highs

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) posted not one, not two, but three ridership records in May.

The agency recorded all-time-high monthly ridership of more than 3.2 million passengers, an 8.5 percent increase compared with May 2007.

In addition, light-rail ridership in May totaled a record 1.6 million, up 22.4 percent compared with May 2007’s total. Plus, average weekend ridership hit an all-time high of 69,000.
