Ridership isn't the only thing on the rise at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) — the customer satisfaction rating is, too. According to results from a recent survey, 94 percent of rail and bus passengers said they were satisfied with the agency's service, up from 91 percent in 2007.

Eighty-seven percent of those polled said DART's services are better than last year and 96 percent said they'd recommend DART to others. The agency's light-rail trains got a 95 percent on-time performance rating, and train cleanliness rose five percentage points to 87 percent.

In addition, 87 percent of survey respondents said they feel safe at rail stations and bus stops, up from 80 percent last year.

In August, DART distributed 45,000 surveys to light-rail and bus riders.
