RailAmerica Inc. recently appointed one and promoted two executives. The short-line holding company named Gabe Lazzaro vice president of human resources, and promoted Sachi Mishra to VP of operations finance and Carolyn Stefanic, to assistant VP-transportation logistics center, revenue protection center and systems.

Most recently director of human resources for Centex Homes, Lazzaro succeeds Terry Forsman, who retired in December. Lazzaro has more than 18 years of human resources experience, including stints with Bic Corp., Pirelli Communications Cables & Systems USA and Johnson & Johnson.

Mishra joined RailAmerica in February 2008 and has extensive corporate finance and engineering experience. He previously served Aerostructures as a project engineer, Arrow Electronics as finance manager, Great Lakes Transportation as business controller, and Eaton Corp. as manager of financial planning and analysis.

Most recently director of transportation logistics, revenue protection center and systems, Stefanic previously served RailAmerica as director of field operations support. She has more than 27 years of rail industry experience.
