Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad Corp. (IC&E) workers will continue to be represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET). The workers recently voted 164-88 in favor of remaining BLET members vs. joining the United Transportation Union, according to the BLET.

In December 2002, the IC&E employees originally joined the BLET, which later obtained their first-ever union contract in January 2005.

Now owned by Canadian Pacific along with sister railroad the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad Corp., the 1,400-mile IC&E launched operations is 2002 in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. The IC&E’s mainlines extend from Chicago to Kansas City, Mo., and from Sabula, Iowa, to Minneapolis-St. Paul.
