• GE Security won contracts in China to provide fire alarm, gas release control and integrated security systems for more than 25 metro subway lines totaling 434 miles. Projects will be completed in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenyang and Shenzhen. The systems are designed to protect passengers and subway infrastructure.

• Alstom Transport has named Yann Vincent vice president of industrial (rolling stock). Most recently chief operating officer of Russian motor manufacturer AvtoVAZ, he will report to COO Jean-Louis Ricaud. Vincent previously served Renault as director of quality, director of the mid-range vehicle program, managing director of the Douai plant, production manager of the Batilly plant, head of information technology and financial services for the Batilly facility, head of financial affairs in France and senior manager-management control.

• Bombardier Transportation announced it completed work on the 12-station Neihu Line, an extension of the Muzha Line in Taipei, Taiwan. The project involved the design and supply of the nine-mile line, a fleet of 202 vehicles and retrofits to the Muzha Line. Bombardier was responsible for all electrical and mechanical systems, and trackwork conceptual design. The company provided its BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 automatic train-control system, power supply and communications systems, platform screen doors, equipment for an operations control center and workshop, and 202 rubber-tired vehicles.

• Cattron Group International Inc. has appointed Jason Chen service technician for Cattron Controls Asia Pacific Ltd. in Shanghai, China. He will report to Marketing and Sales Manager Martin Chen. Jason Chen previously worked with an engineering company to analyze and service printed circuit boards that used surface-mount technology. He has two years of experience in the remote control industry. Cattron provides industrial remote controls, related products and professional services for the railway, industrial, mining and commercial mobile markets.

• Engineering firm ARCADIS named T. Wayne Holcombe business development manager in the Sunbelt region. He most recently was a principal at Jacobs Engineering Group, where he secured major Texas Department of Transportation, Port of Houston and county contracts. Holcombe will focus on transportation projects in the Dallas and Houston markets.
