Glavin to manage Texas DOT's new rail division

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recently appointed William Glavin to head the department's new rail division, effective Dec. 1.
Most recently a consultant with RVBA and Associates, Glavin has more than 30 years of rail industry experience, including stints with Burlington Northern Railroad and North American RailNet. His positions ranged from system chief engineer to general manager of strategic network design.
The new division will consolidate TxDOT’s major rail responsibilities, such as planning, inspection, grade crossings, management of the South Orient Railroad and railroad safety oversight.
