The Watco Cos. Inc. recently named Neal Jacobs general manager of the Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad (KO). He previously served in the position from 2006 until April 2009, when he became chief engineer of track for Watco’s central region.

Since launching his railroading career in 1993 with the Central Kansas Railway — which was purchased by KO in 2001 — Jacobs has been a trackman, roadmaster and general roadmaster.

KO operates 840 miles of track between Wichita, Kan., and the Colorado border, and moves more than 55,000 carloads annually.
