On Sunday, Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) will celebrate the 10th anniversary since the railroad was privatized as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana S.A. de C.V. on June 24, 1997.

In 2005, Kansas City Southern (KCS) acquired the former TFM S.A. de C.V. from Grupo TMM S.A. de C.V.

Last week, KCS and KCSM officials marked the occasion by holding a ceremony in Mexico City. Attended by KCS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Haverty, KCS President and Chief Operating Officer Art Shoener, and KCSM President and Executive Representative Jose Zozaya, the event included a town hall meeting with workers and the presentation of honorary awards to 84 employees who’ve been with the railroad since privatization.
