• Brookville Equipment Corp. has named Larry Conrad president. Most recently vice president of operations, Conrad succeeds Dalph McNeil, who is retiring after serving as the company’s president for nearly 33 years.

• Vossloh AG will aquire the permanent-way segment of Saargummi Deutschland GmbH. The supplies highly elastic intermediate layers and pads for rail fastening systems. The transaction is scheduled to close in the second quarter.

• Ansaldo STS USA has named Karen Tichenor vice president of quality, HSE and business performance. Tichenor previously was director of quality, HSE and business performance at Bombardier Transportation.

• Pacer International has appointed John Hafferty chief financial officer. Hafferty previously served as CFO for the international division of Ozburn-Hessey Logistics. In addition, Pacer named Michael Burns chief commercial officer. Previously, he was executive vice president of global sales and marketing for Ozburn-Hessey Logistics. Pacer also appointed Robert Williams vice president of human resources. Williams previously was managing director of Ratliff & Taylor, a talent management company.

• RailComm has been contracted to provide a comprehensive yard automation system at CSX’s new intermodal facility in North Baltimore, Ohio. The all-inclusive system includes direct switch control, NX routing, control point monitoring, track protection via derails and blue flags, automatic equipment identification and tracking, and a shove track protection system, according to RailComm. The company also recently provided a wireless remote control third rail and switch heater system for Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) in New Jersey. The turnkey control system includes the RailComm heater controllers communicating to a central office via RailComm’s RADiANT data radio network. RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) System commands the central office and provides the operator with a user interface to control the third rail and switch heaters.

• Macro Corp. has named David Oglevee senior principal consultant. He will support Macro’s business development initiatives in the area of rail transit control centers. He was previously responsible for business development activities at LTK Engineering Services.
