The University of Denver’s Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) recently concluded its seventh annual intermodal travel seminar, which is the final course taken by students who are completing their Master of Science in Intermodal Transportation Management degree program.

Twenty students visited Europe’s Benelux region, where they met with transportation leaders of the European Union and NATO, toured the Port of Antwerp and a DHL Brussels hub, and heard presentations from industry leaders at APM Terminals and Fortis DVB Bank in Rotterdam, and SNCB in Brussels. They also fulfilled a requirement to use multiple modes of public transportation while in Europe.

“This year’s travel seminar provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities confronting the transportation industry, both freight and passenger, during the current downturn in the global economy,” said ITI Educational Programs Director Carol Nappholz in a prepared statement.
