• Railhead Vision Systems has been contracted by Metra to install onboard surveillance systems for Highliner cars. The contract calls for the installation of more than 500 security systems by year's end.

• Wabtec Corp. shareholders have elected three directors to three-year terms at the company’s annual meeting: Robert Brooks, William Kassling and Albert Neupaver.

• LGC Skyrota Wind Energy Corp. has signed a three-year, $367,691 contract to provide gearbox casing repair and refurbishment services to Irish Rail, Ireland's largest rail operator.

• CIT Group Inc. appointed Mike Kahmann senior vice president of the transportation finance group. He will be responsible for asset sales, pricing and structuring, investment strategies and capital raising for CIT Rail and CIT Aerospace. Most recently, Kahmann was president of Emigrant Business Credit Corp.

• Transportation Certification Services announced it will begin training its third and fourth classes of train equipment operators for Minnesota’s Northstar commuter-rail service. The company trained the first two classes in 2009.

• RailPros Inc. recently opened a downtown San Diego office in order to better serve San Diego-area clients, RailPros officials said in a prepared statement. Current projects include a downtown San Diego quiet zone and corridor program management support as part of the LOSSAN rail corridor program, which includes construction along the Coaster mainline throughout San Diego County.
