BNSF Logistics earns EPA environmental distinction

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently honored BNSF Logistics with an outstanding environmental performance designation in the SmartWay Transport Partnership program.

A SmartWay Transport Partner since 2005, BNSF Logistics generated the highest possible score — 1.25 — through its annual program objectives.

The EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership program aims to significantly reduce air emissions and promote environmental stewardship.

“Customers are taking a long-term view of decisions they are making today and seeking partners who can present modal alternatives that benefit the environment,” said Eric Wolfe, BNSF Logistics vice president and general manager, in a prepared statement. “Our expertise in providing truckload, intermodal and rail solutions delivers energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves air quality.”
