Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD) recently arranged a deal with Turner Diesel Ltd. to acquire the Scottish company’s EMD locomotive-related services business. Turner Diesel provides EMD aftermarket parts and engine-related services throughout Europe and the Near East.

By month’s end, Turner Diesel will transfer ownership of its Aberdeen, Scotland, and Stoke-on-Trent, England, plants to new EMD subsidiary Electro-Motive Services International Ltd., which will manage the acquired business. EMD named Duncan Scott, most recently Turner Diesel’s director of sales, managing director of Electro-Motive Services International.

“Unifying our two organizations will bring rapid improvements in customer service levels and permit expansion of service activities across Europe and beyond,” said EMD Vice President of International Sales and Service Albert Enste in a prepared statement.
