The National Mediation Board (NMB) recently named Harry Hoglander chairman and Terri Brown, senior mediator. Elizabeth Dougherty and Linda Puchala will continue to serve as board members.

An NMB member since August 2002, Hoglander previously served two other terms as chairman. He was reconfirmed for a third board term in July 2009. Prior to joining the NMB, Hoglander was a legislative specialist in the office of Congressman John Tierney and a captain for Trans World Airline.

Brown, who joined the board in 2002, will supervise a team of mediators engaged in resolving contract disputes in the rail and airline industries. Prior to her NMB posts, she held various positions at Amtrak, including manager of dispute resolution, employee relations manager, labor contract administrator and labor relations officer.

An independent federal agency established by the Railway Labor Act, NMB governs labor-management relations in the rail and airline industries.
