The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority’s (ACTA) governing board recently named Los Angeles City Councilmember Janice Hahn chairman to succeed Long Beach Councilmember Gary DeLong, who now will now serve as vice chair. The chair and vice chairs serve one-year terms. Hahn previously served two other terms as chairman.

ACTA’s governing board comprises representatives from the cities and ports of L.A. and Long Beach, Calif., and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. ACTA governs the Alameda Corridor, a 20-mile freight-rail expressway that links the ports with yards east of downtown L.A. More than 5,500 containers are transported along the corridor daily, about one-third of the ports’ average daily volume.
