CN, Western Stevedoring Co. Ltd. and several forest-product companies recently reached a memorandum of understanding to provide seven-day-per-week unloading services at Western Stevedoring's Lynnterm Terminal at Port Metro Vancouver.

The parties plan to establish a more consistent flow of forest products traffic through the terminal to help improve supply-chain efficiencies at the Vancouver, British Columbia, port.

Under the agreement, CN will provide daily service to the terminal, which in turn will guarantee to unload rail cars every day. The forest-product companies agreed to work with both CN and Lynnterm Terminal to manage inbound traffic flows.

The “innovative service plan” will help boost productivity and foster traffic growth through “this important Pacific Gateway terminal” for forest products and other bulk commodities, said CN President and Chief Executive Officer Claude Mongeau in a prepared statement.
