Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI) recently appointed Janice Cowen and Roy Deitchmanto its board.

State coordinator for South Carolina Operation Lifesaver, Cowen next year will serve as chair-elect of OLI’s National Advisory Council — the main advisory body for developing the organization’s educational materials and programs — and then assume the chairman position in 2012.

Amtrak’s vice president for environmental health and safety, Deitchman will fill a board position that will be vacated in January by Alvin Richardson Sr., Amtrak’s senior safety coordinator, who plans to retire.
