Rail News: Rail Industry Trends

Unemployment rate nudged up in November

Last month, the U.S. unemployment rate rose to 9.8 percent from October’s 9.6 percent, according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics.

U.S. employers added 39,000 jobs in November, signaling that the economy continues to strengthen, but at an ongoing slow pace. Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg had projected that employers would add between 75,000 and 200,000 jobs last month.
