Watco makes five management appointments

Watco Cos. Inc. recently named: Brian Boutwell, interim regional vice president of operations-Gulf Region; Jerry Carter interim director of operations-West Region; Bill Richmond, director of operations-Central Region; Abel Trevino, general manager of the Baton Rouge Southern Railroad; and Audie Cavazos, general manager of the Austin Western Railroad.

Boutwell most recently was director of railroad operations for the Gulf Region. He previously held various positions with CSX Transportation and Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR).

Most recently an operations specialist, Carter also previously served Watco as a quality assurance inspector. From 1994 to 2009, he held various positions at RailAmerica Inc.

Richmond most recently was GM of the Austin Western Railroad. He previously was an assistant GM for the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad. Prior to joining Watco, Richmond held various posts at KCSR and CN.

Trevino most recently was manager of rail operations for TGS/Econorail. He previously served in various capacities at Rail Terminal Services and Union Pacific Railroad, where he was employed from 1984 to 2006.

Most recently a trainmaster for the Austin Western Railroad, Cavazos has 12 years of railroading experience, including stints with KCSR and the Texas Mexican Railway.
