Burlington Northern Santa Fe L.L.C. has appointed Ray Greer to the newly created position of president for subsidiary BNSF Logistics L.L.C. Eric Wolfe, who had served as BNSF Logistics’ vice president and general manager, now will report to Greer as vice president and chief operating officer.

Greer most recently was chief executive officer of Greatwide Logistics Services L.L.C., which provides transportation services for the retail and consumer products industries. He previously was president and CEO of Newgistics Inc., and president, COO and chief information systems officer for Ryder Logistics. In addition Greer, previously held several leadership positions with Federal Express Corp.

Since 2002, BNSF logistics — which provides multi-modal transportation services — has grown from a domestic transportation management company to an international third-party logistics provider serving the global supply chain, BNSF officials said in a prepared statement.
