During its annual short-line meeting held recently in Roanoke, Va., Norfolk Southern Corp. presented 10 awards, including three new honors handed out by the general managers of each NS region.

The new General Manager's Awards went to the Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway in the Western Region; Yadkin Valley Railroad in the Eastern Region; and North Shore Railroad Co. in the Northern Region.

Other winners included:

• the Louisville & Indiana Railroad, Construction Short Line Award;

• Golden Isles Terminal Railroad, Automotive Short Line Award;

• Columbus & Ohio River Rail Road Co., Coal Business Group Short Line Award;

• Nittany & Bald Eagle Railroad Co., Clay and Forest Products Team Short Line Award;

• Chattanooga & Chickamauga Railway Co., Chemical Team Short Line Award;

• Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Co., Agriculture, Fertilizer and Consumer Products Team Short Line Award; and

• SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority, Industrial Development Short Line Award.
