Cargo security association offers shipment-protection seminar

In early December, the National Cargo Security Council (NCSC) will host a day-and-a-half seminar in San Francisco featuring 36 cargo-security experts who'll discuss ways to thwart theft of such high-value shipments as prescription and over-the-counter drugs, cosmetics, tobacco, clothing and high-tech products.

To be held Dec. 3-5 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel/San Francisco Airport, the seminar "is an enlarged version of a highly successful seminar we held in 2002 stressing pharmaceutical cargo theft," said NCSC Chair Tom Sheets, managing partner of The Sheets Group, in a prepared statement. Scheduled session topics include "Anatomy of the Theft," "Thefts of Specific Products, "The Role of Law Enforcement Agencies" and "Developing a Risk Matrix."

For more information, contact NCSC at 410-956-0941; Fax: 410 571-8294; Email: ncsc@cargo security.com.
