Bush to nominate CSX's Havens as treasury department general counsel

The U.S. Treasury Department soon might welcome its second ex-CSX Corp. executive. President George W. Bush plans to nominate CSX Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Arnold Havens as treasury department general counsel to succeed David Aufhauser, who resigned Sept. 30.

Havens previously served CSX as vice president for federal affairs, and vice president and Washington counsel. Prior to CSX, he served as special assistant to the president for legislative affairs under former President George H. Bush.

If Havens' appointment is confirmed by the Senate, he'll join former CSX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Snow at the department. In January, Snow was confirmed as treasury secretary.
