Libya to host international transportation conference in fall

advertisement

Because political tensions are easing and the country is trying to become a major transportation link between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Libya is hosting an international transportation conference. The Libyan International Transport and Logistics Exhibition (TransLibya 2004) will be held Oct. 5-8 at the Tripoli International Fair Ground.

The event is targeting exhibitors involved in rail, highway, water and air transportation; airport industries; freight forwarding; logistics, intermodal, port and terminal operations; and warehousing, as well as non-vessel operating common carriers, and oil and gas transport operators.

Organizer ITE Group P.L.C. believes it's the right time for Libya to host a transportation conference because the country's economic outlook is stronger than ever, a $10 billion Libyan Railway project is expected to start soon, and the country is developing its ports and merchant fleet, and planning to improve its airport infrastructure and develop navigation systems.
