Industrial development authority seeks rail-centric proposals for former Army depot in New York

The Seneca County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for rail-centric uses of a former Army depot in Seneca, N.Y.

Essentially idle since 2000, the Seneca Army Depot includes more than 10,000 acres of rail-served property. The IDA is encouraging rail-centric uses at the site to leverage and improve upon the existing infrastructure.

"With over 10,000 acres of land, we expect that the depot will be able to accommodate multiple businesses and encourage those interested to consider making a proposal for all or part of the facility," said IDA Executive Director Robert Aronson — who has worked on developing the depot during his five-year tenure — in a press release.

The RFP process is being managed by Thayer-Carver Inc. in close collaboration with the IDA. Statements of interest are due by May 16 and proposals are due by June 6.

To obtain a copy of the RFP or pose an inquiry, contact Terese Hunwick of Thayer-Carver by phone at 734-645-3118 or via email at terese@thayer-carver.com.
