The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) has announced that registration is open for the Canadian Rail Summit (CRS) 2014, which will be held Sept. 21-23 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

About 1,500 industry leaders and stakeholders are expected to attend the conference, which will include 140 exhibits and a number of educational sessions on such topics as rail safety culture, supply chain competitiveness and the 2015 Canadian Transportation Act review. CN President and Chief Executive Officer Claude Mongeau will be the event's keynote speaker.

"The Canadian Rail Summit will give railways, suppliers and other stakeholders an excellent chance to exchange ideas about the important areas that are impacting the industry," said RAC President and CEO Michael Bourque in a press release.

CRS 2014 will be the first joint event with the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA), Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers (CARS) and RAC in Canada. RAC will host the conference in conjunction with RSI/CMA 2014 and RSI's annual trade show and conference, which will be held in Canada for the first time.

The RSI/CMA event will combine RSI and CARS exhibits with more than 50 technical and educational sessions presented by CMA. Exhibits will be hosted by the RSI, and members of CARS and RAC will have access to the exhibit space at RSI's member rate.

The first joint event will offer attendees "a unique opportunity to network with North American railway supply industry representatives," said RSI President Tom Simpson.
