On May 29, Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) named Adam Frankel senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Since 1999, Frankel has served Ford Motor Co., most recently as a corporate and transactions attorney, and previously as business manager for mergers and acquisitions.

Between 1995 and 1998, Frankel served Simpson Tacher & Bartlett as an associate in the law firm's London and New York City offices.

"Since this is a new position at GWI, we welcome the organizational skills, perspective and energy [Frankel] will contribute to our governance practices and our acquisition efforts," said GWI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mortimer Fuller III in a prepared statement.

Meanwhile, shareholders re-elected one and elected two new directors at the short-line holding company's annual stockholders meeting May 29.

Florida East Coast Industries Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Robert Anestis, and Rockwood Holdings L.P. Managing General Partner and founder Peter Scannell replace James Fuller and John Randolph, who've retired from the board. Anestis and Scannell will serve three-year terms.

Summa Strategies Canada Inc. Chairman M. Douglas Young will serve another three-year term.
