Association of American Railroads’ Policy and Economics Department recently released the 24th annual edition of Analysis of Class I Railroads, which provides comprehensive data about eight Class Is that operated in the United States last year.


The book contains more than 750 financial and operating statistics for Class Is, dividing data by eastern and western districts, and the United States as a whole. Categories include physical characteristics, operations, employment, fuel consumption, net worth and investment bases, revenues, expenses, income, rankings, and plant and equipment.


Books, which are available from AAR for $250 ($100 for AAR members) plus a $5 handling charge, can be obtained by completing an order form on AAR's site (www.aar.org) or by calling 202-639-2102. Orders also can be mailed to Department 6015, Washington, D.C., 20042-6015.
