On Feb. 12, Dallas, Garland & Northeastern Railroad Inc.'s (DGNO) clerks voted 6-0 in favor of choosing United Transportation Union as their collective bargaining representative, according to National Mediation Board.
In 1994, the short line's train and engine service workers chose UTU representation. However, the clerks plan to form a separate local committee of adjustment, according to a UTU statement.
Owned by RailAmerica Inc., DGNO operates 300 track miles and interchanges with Union Pacific Railroad and Kansas City Southern.
