A session on cyber security has been added to the agenda for Progressive Railroading's Secure Rail Conference, which will be held Feb. 9-10 in Orlando, Fla."Defining and Preventing Cyber Spear Phishing Attacks" will be presented on Feb. 9. The session will detail an unsuccessful attempt at a cyber whaling attack that was directed at senior management of the Florida East Coast Railway (FECR).The attempt provides a case study on such cyber crimes. The session will offer an overview of phishing, spear phishing and whaling attacks; details of the attempted attack at FECR; and ideas for ways to mitigate such attacks.The session will be presented by Lester Hightower, FECR vice president and chief information officer.More information and the conference registration form can be found on the Secure Rail website, www.securerailconference.com.
