CSXT, CSXI to join U.S. Customs' anti-terrorism program
advertisement
CSX Transportation and CSX Intermodal recently submitted applications to U.S. Customs Service to become members of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.
C-TPAT encourages businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate security guidelines to supply-chain business partners.
The CSX Corp. subsidiaries soon will submit to U.S. Customs a "Rail Carrier and Motor Carrier Supply-Chain Security Profile" questionnaire.
CSXT and CSXI plan to provide shippers information on C-TPAT and updates on their program involvement on their Web sites at www.csx.com and www.csxi.com, respectively.
C-TPAT targets various international transportation supply-chain companies, including importers, licensed brokers, airlines, ocean carriers, railroads, air-freight consolidators and port operators.
