NS intermodal-management subsidiary launches Web site

Norfolk Southern Corp. business unit MODALGISTICS(sm) Oct. 30 launched its Web site, www.modalgistics.com, designed to offer customers a complete list of MODALGISTICS' services and products, and the facilities the company serves.
MODALGISTICS in the near future plans to add features enabling customers to securely view their supply chain and complete shipment visibility through inventory-control systems.
MODALGISTICS — an intermodal supply-chain services company that offers transportation solutions, materials management, network planning and distribution services — accesses NS' network of 174 rail-transfer facilities, 124 lumber re-load and 71 metals distribution centers, and seven plastics warehouse/distribution facilities. The company provides customers any combination of rail, truck, ship or NS' Triple Crown® service.
