Geac Computer Corp. Ltd. recently presented Burlington Northern Santa Fe a Customer Excellence Award, which recognize companies that innovate or optimize the global software supplier's products.
BNSF was honored for enhancing software applications used to manage the railroad's capital-project and fixed-asset accounting functions. The Class I designed an Automated Equipment (AE) application to support mass entry of equipment additions, retirements, improvements, overhauls and rebuilds.
"The new AE application has significantly reduced the time my team must spend on data entry and error correction, allowing them to focus more on value-added data analysis," said Cami Elliot, BNSF general director, capital investment accounting, in a prepared statement.
