U.S. Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) late last week toured Aaron Enterprises Inc.'s facility in York, Pennsylvania.He was joined by representatives from Genesee & Wyoming Inc. and other York-based businesses, according to a press release issued by the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), which coordinated the event. Aaron Enterprises Vice President Eric Harlacher led the tour of his company's maintenance and fabrication shops. The visit included a look at the firm's various specialized trenchless equipment used for the installation of underground utilities. A REMSA member company, Aaron Enterprises has completed several projects for railroads and transit agencies, including CSX, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, the Maryland Area Regional Commuter system, Amtrak and various state departments of transportation. "Our rails, roads and bridges are critical to the economic success of our region, which is why we must modernize our infrastructure networks, especially here in [Pennsylvania]," said Perry, who also serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.Meanwhile, Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner last week visited HARTING Technology group in Espelkamp, Germany. The governor was part of a 20-person delegation that met with various companies in Germany to learn about and discuss mutual interests, HARTING officials said in a press release.Rauner expressed interest in the further development and prospects of a HARTING production plant in Elgin, Illinois. The group included business leaders and representatives from industrial organizations.
