Timken order an outgrowth of new Brazilian bearing plant

advertisement

The Timken Co. June 3 announced that it reached a two-year agreement with Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) to supply 35,000 bearings for the Brazilian iron-ore mining company's rail cars.
Timken plans to equip CVRD's cars with eight Timken® AP™ tapered roller bearings that incorporate the supplier's Timken® HDL™ seal.
The deal comes one week after Timken opened a bearing reconditioning facility in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, at a site on Brazilian railroad MRS Logistica S.R.
Through the new bearing service unit (an extension of Timken do Brasil), Timken plans to recondition rail-car bearings for MRS and other Brazilian roads.
