Transportation industry educator Priest dies

Transportation educator Terry Priest died May 19 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Following his 2000 retirement from Coors Brewing Co. as corporate commerce manager, logistics, Priest taught an international transportation course at the University of Colorado-Denver.
He also served as agent/telegrapher for Union Pacific Railroad and corporate traffic manager for J.R. Simplot Co.
Priest was actively involved in or held leadership positions with The American Society of Transportation and Logistics, Transportation Clubs International, and Council of Logistics Management. Under his leadership, Denver Transportation Club's annual Operation Stimulus transportation education program was broadened from industry professionals to high school and college students.
Denver Transportation Club plans to continue Priest's transportation education efforts through the Terry L. Priest Transportation Education Fund; contributions can be sent c/o The Denver Foundation, 950 South Cherry St., Suite 200, Denver CO 80246-2662.
