Yesterday, the Association of American Railroads announced Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) has become a full member, and GWI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mortimer Fuller III has been elected to the association's board.
"Membership is an important opportunity for us to participate in the discussion of issues affecting the railroad industry," said Fuller in a prepared statement. "We also expect to benefit from the research and development, and technical discussions that the AAR brings together on behalf of the entire industry."
GWI owns or holds an interest in more than 20 regionals and short lines in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Bolivia.
