AASHTO, COMTO sign pact to support minority advancement in transportation careers

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) yesterday formalizing their partnership to promote the advancement of minorities in transportation.

The MOU is a step forward in a collaboration between the parties to explore ways to promote the transportation and infrastructure sectors as a rewarding career choice for minorities, AASHTO officials said in a press release.

Among other things, the MOU will promote the advancement of minorities in transportation, and promote the transportation and infrastructure sectors as a rewarding career choice for minorities, they said.

AASHTO President Victoria Sheehan and COMTO Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Tara McDaniel signed the MOU at a virtual signing ceremony held during AASHTO's spring meeting.
