The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) is seeking members interested in giving presentations on "Breakthrough Innovations in Railroad Construction and Maintenance of Way" at the association's annual conference and joint NRC/Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) exhibition to be held Jan. 5-9, 2005, at the Sheraton Bal Harbour Beach Resort in Miami.

NRC and REMSA plan to introduce the "breakthrough innovations" event at the conference. A panel comprising NRC and REMSA members will select three winning presentations, which should focus on a recent important breakthrough innovation in the world of railroad construction and maintenance, or supply.

Interested members should submit a 250- to 500-word description of their company's recent breakthrough innovation and a photograph or two, if possible, to Chuck Baker via email at cbaker@nrcma.org. Descriptions should be as technical as necessary, but written for a general audience.

Submissions are due Sept. 1; winners will be selected by Sept. 30.

NRC and REMSA officials plans to publish all submissions and distribute them to attendees at the NRC conference and joint exhibition. The three chosen companies will be given 10 minutes to discuss their breakthrough innovation before a general session audience at the conference.
