Yesterday, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) named Jeff Usher senior director of business services, effective Oct. 18. He will report to Senior Assistant Vice President of Business Services John Carroll.
Usher most recently served as system manager-interline service management for Norfolk Southern Railway, where he was responsible for developing interline service agreements with internal and external parties, and representing the Class I on various AAR committees. He joined NS in 1998.
Between 1978 and 1998, Usher served Consolidated Rail Corp. (Conrail) in various capacities, including superintendent of line of business waybilling, and director of performance and process management.
"Jeff has an extensive background in railroad operations and has worked within the AAR committee structure for many years," said AAR Senior VP for Safety and Operations Robert VanderClute in a prepared statement.
