L.B. Foster Co. recently hosted U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio) for a tour of the company’s Dublin, Ohio, facility, where the primary products manufactured onsite include wheel impact load detectors (WILD) and friction management (FM) control boxes. The WILDs help the railroad industry identify unsafe conditions related to rail-car wheels. With data collected by the WILDs, railroads can prioritize maintenance based on type of defect, according to a press release issued by the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) and the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association, of which L.B. Foster is a member.
