Last week, Ontario Northland Railway and the Railway Association of Canada conducted an emergency response training course in Moosonee, Ontario.

The course included three hours of classroom instruction, which covered basic emergency response procedures, safety concerns, communication, how to assess damage, and how to decipher train consists and shipping documents. Instructors also provided field demonstrations of a low- and high-pressure tank car.

More than 30 fire department and town officials, ambulance service providers, contractors and Ontario Northland workers took the course.
