The event included a tour of on-dock rail facilities, marshaling yards and the Badger Bridge dispatch center.
"We were honored to have many of the nation’s leading industry experts come together at our facilities," said Peter Gilbertson, president and CEO of PHL owner Anacostia Rail Holdings, in a press release.
Meanwhile, a group of federal, state and local officials gathered April 5 to mark the grand opening of Trinity Metro's Trinity Lakes Station in east Fort Worth, Texas.
Trinity Metro officials were joined by representatives from the Federal Transit Administration, Tarrant County Commissioners Court, Fort Worth City Council and the state of Texas. The event included grand-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies to commemorate the new train station for Trinity Railway Express.
"This train station is about mobility; it’s about connecting communities," said Trinity Metro President and CEO Richard Andreski. "What this station represents is the future of our city. People depend on reliable transportation to get to work, to visit family and to participate in their community — and rail transit is a big part of that."
