Grade crossing safety and trespassing prevention will be hot topics this summer at Operation Lifesaver Inc.’s 14th international symposium and training seminar. To be held July 9-12 at the Crown Plaza Resort in Anaheim, Calif., the event will focus on advances and best practices in highway-rail safety education, infrastructure engineering and law enforcement.

The seminar will include presentations and workshops targeted at freight- and passenger-rail executives, locomotive engineers, conductors, first responder trainers, public safety personnel, truck drivers, professional driver trainers and educators. Held every other year, the event also will offer something new: a half-day session examining the light-rail industry’s crossing and pedestrian safety issues.
