Yesterday, Norfolk Southern Corp. named Donald Seale executive vice president and chief marketing officer to assume the responsibilities of L.I. “Ike” Prillaman, who retired April 1 as vice chairman and CMO, ending his 36-year railroading career.

Most recently EVP of sales and marketing, Seale has held a number of sales and marketing positions since joining NS in 1976. His previous titles include senior VP of merchandise marketing and SVP of marketing services.

Since joining NS in 1970, Prillaman, 63, held various auditing, accounting and properties positions, including VP of accounting. He was named EVP of marketing in 1995, and vice chairman and CMO in 1998.
