Last week, the Railway Association of Canada (RAC) released a brochure to promote rail’s role in Canada’s economy and environment.

Entitled “On Track for the Future – Policy Priorities 2005,” the two-page brochure describes issues facing the country’s Class Is, short lines and passenger railroads, and recommends actions the government should take to address the concerns.

The brochure reviews railroads’ taxation levels, regulated access, highway traffic congestion and road infrastructure costs, and greenhouse gases emitted on highways and railroads.

For more information on the brochure, visit RAC’s Web site at www.railcan.ca.
