Kansas City Southern recently appointed Daniel Avramovich to the newly created position of executive vice president of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for coordinating KCS’ sales and marketing efforts in the United States and Mexico, and report to KCS EVP and Chief Operating Officer Art Shoener.

Avramovich most recently served Exel/DHL Supply Chain as president of network services-Americas. He previously held senior logistics and transportation positions with Union Pacific Corp., Landstar Transportation, Pepsico and Accenture. At UP, Avramovich served stints as vice president-controller and VP of marketing and sales for Union Pacific Railroad, and EVP of marketing, sales and customer service for former trucking subsidiary Overnite Transportation.

“Dan has a solid marketing and finance background that will help lead the international team’s efforts to grow the business, particularly in the development of an international intermodal corridor between Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico City, Kansas City and Atlanta,” said Shoener, who also serves as president and chief executive officer of the Kansas City Southern Railway Co., in a prepared statement.
